Zihni Acar Yazici is an academic staff member at R.T. Erdogan University Medical School. He completed his PhD in Immunovirology at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne Medical School. The title of his thesis was the production of human and murine monoclonal antibodies to the fusion protein of human respiratory syncytial virus. He has conducted R&D in industry on the development of monoclonal antibodies for in vitro diagnostic use. He has also conducted academic research on (auto)inflammatory disorders, focusing on the mechanisms of action and therapy. His prior positions include postdoctoral research work at the Universities of Bradford, Cambridge, Glasgow, Bristol, and Leeds.
