Professor Hajime Matsumura is Chief of Plastic Surgery at Tokyo Medical University, Tokyo, Japan. He practices at the Department of Plastic Surgery and Burn Unit, having completed his surgical residency at the National Hospital Organization Tokyo Medical Center. Between 1985 and 1997 he had the opportunity to study and practice abroad at the Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery, University of Washington in Seattle, USA (Limited Medical License, State of Washington, 1995). He is currently the Representative Director of the Japanese Society for Burn Injuries, Director of the Japanese Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Japanese Society for Surgical Wound Care and the Japanese Society for Pressure Ulcers (as of February 2025). Internationally, he is a board member of the Asia Pacific Burn Association, having served as president from 2019 to 2021, and international editorial advisor for the Journal of Burn Care and Research, the official journal of the American Burn Association. His clinical and research work focuses on wound healing including acute wound care, burns, regenerative medicine products, cell therapy, and scars and keloids. Dr. Jeehee Kim, a distinguished scientist in regenerative medicine, received her Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Munich, specializing in stem cell research. She completed a post-graduate program at Yale School of Medicine, focusing on epigenetics with human iPS cells. During her master's at Seoul National University, she patented a stem cell differentiation technology. For six years, Dr. Kim has been the CTO and research director at Rokit Healthcare, leading regenerative therapy development. Her work includes multinational clinical trials for skin regeneration and contributions to diabetic foot and skin cancer treatments using 3D bioprinting technologies. Dr. Kim's achievements include the 'Best Paper Award' from the Korean Wound Management Society (2024), '3rd place Best Poster Award' at DFCon (2021), and 'Tech Challenge Winner' from the American Association of Pharma Scientists (2019). She serves on advisory committees and boards related to regenerative biotechnology and digital health in Korea.
