Dr. Amanda Haboush-Deloye earned her Ph.D. in experimental psychology and her Master of Arts in clinical psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her research background is on mental health in adolescent, adult, and older adult populations. She also has a particular interest in improving research methods to be more culturally competent. As a researcher at NICRP, she has designed and implemented many research projects regarding children's physical health, mental health, and education, as well as children's advocacy initiatives such as Every Child Matters in Nevada and Prevent Child Abuse Nevada. Being a Las Vegas native, She aims to remain in Nevada and work with NICRP to create a healthy community where families and children are a priority.
Dr. Jihye Kim is a research scientist at Boston Medical Center. Previously, she served as a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the School of Public Health, University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She earned her Ph.D. in economics from the University at Albany, State University of New York, in 2020. Her research focuses on the evaluation of health policies, programs, and healthcare access. Her expertise encompasses health economics, applied econometrics, and the analysis of large-scale datasets, including claims data and electronic health records.
Dr. Erick López received his doctoral training in medical sociology at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He serves as an Epidemiologist at the Southern Nevada Health District, Office of Informatics and Epidemiology. With a focus on social determinants of health, he has dedicated over ten years to collaborative efforts with community partners, addressing disparities in chronic disease, lead poisoning, CLAS standards in healthcare, and COVID-19 morbidity and mortality. His work is published in journals like Ethnicity and Health, Journal of Minority and Immigrant Health, and Journal of Community Medicine and Public Health. Previously, he served as program manager for the Nevada Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program housed in the Nevada Institute for Children’s Research and Policy at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, School of Public Health.
Dr. Anil T. Mangla is a distinguished epidemiologist with extensive experience in public health research, academia, and infectious disease control. He holds advanced degrees in epidemiology and has contributed significantly to understanding and mitigating the spread of various infectious diseases. His work is characterized by his innovative approach to disease surveillance, particularly in urban and community settings. He has collaborated with several health departments and academic institutions, providing valuable insights of epidemiology in many areas such as substance abuse, informatics, zoonotic diseases, healthcare-acquired infections, HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis. As a former state epidemiologist for Washington, and a faculty member at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, School of Public Health, he is highly regarded for his commitment to improving public health through evidence-based practices and his dedication to training the next generation of epidemiologists.
Binita Adhikari is a Graduate Research Assistant at UNLV School of Public Health. She completed her bachelor's degree in public health and is currently pursuing a master's degree in public health with a major concentration in epidemiology and biostatistics. Her research interests mainly include infectious disease epidemiology, disease prevention, healthcare systems access, and chronic disease epidemiology, including cancer.
