Dr. Thamer Almangour graduated with a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical science from King Saud University in 2009. He graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science University. He also completed 2 years of post-doctoral fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Thamer Almangour started his professional career as an assistant professor at the College of Pharmacy at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2019 and became the PharmD internship program supervisor at the College of Pharmacy and the infectious diseases pharmacy residency program director at the University Hospital where he serves as infectious diseases clinical pharmacist. Dr. Thamer Almangour became the chairman of the clinical pharmacy department in January 2023 and was promoted to associate professor in Match 2023. His research interest is in the area of infectious diseases pharmacotherapy with a specific focus on the treatment of drug-resistant Gram-positive and Gram-negative infections, the use of long acting lipoglycopeptide for the treatment of osteoarticular infections, and the use of novel agents for the treatment of difficult-to-treat resistant pseudomonas infections.
