Zhen Luo is a Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Tianjin University. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Shanghai Institute of Technology, a Master of Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, and a Doctor of Engineering from Tianjin University. Before his current role, he worked as an Assistant Engineer at the Daqing Petroleum Administration Oilfield Construction Design Institute (1988–1992), an Engineer for the Daqing Oilfield 200MW Low-Temperature Nuclear Heating Demonstration Project (1995–1997), a Senior Engineer at the Daqing Petroleum Administration Bureau Infrastructure Engineering Department (1997–2000), a Research Professor at the University of South Carolina (2011), and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2017). He is also a member of the Resistance Welding and Solid Phase Welding Subcommittee of the International Welding Society, Welding Society of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, China Welding Association, China Mechanical Engineering Society, and China Engineering Welding Association.
