Dr. José Castro holds a PhD from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro – PUC Rio, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Itajubá – UNIFEI, and a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Maranhão – UFMA. He worked as an Energy Research Analyst at the Energy Research Company – EPE, in the planning of the expansion of the Brazilian electrical system. He worked with UFES/EBSERH (Federal University of Espírito Santo/Brazilian Hospital Services Company), collaborating in the monitoring of the maintenance of the medium- and low-voltage electrical grid, in the preparation and coordination of projects for low- and medium-voltage electrical installations, in the execution of works, and the commercial management and supervision of supplier contracts. He is currently a professor at the Federal University of Pernambuco – UFPE, working mainly on the following topics: market and regulation, reliability, and the electrical integration of new generation sources and storage systems in microgrids and electric mobility technologies.
Prof. Dr. Pedro A.C. Rosas holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco (1996), a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco (1999), and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (2003). He is currently an Adjunct Professor 1 at the Federal University of Pernambuco. He has experience in the area of Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis on Electric Power Generation, working mainly on the following topics: wind turbines, energy quality, and the electrical integration of new sources, storage, and electric mobility. He is currently coordinating the project of ANEEL’s strategic call 21 on the application of storage in wind farms with the aim of enabling storage systems.
