Rico Sia, born on January 8, 1970, in Sorong, Indonesia, is a committed public worker and
economist. He obtained his bachelor's degree in economics from Bina Nusantara
University in 2017 and subsequently pursued a master's degree at Hasanuddin University.
Since 2019, Rico Sia has been a member of the People's Representative Council
of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI), where he actively participates in
national policymaking and legislative activities. Dedicated to ongoing
education and scholarly advancement, he is presently undertaking PhD studies at
Hasanuddin University, anticipated to conclude in 2025.
Rahim Darma is a professor of agricultural economics at Hasanuddin University, Indonesia,
with over 30 years of experience in food security, agribusiness, and rural
development. He has consulted for global organisations like the World Bank,
Asian Development Bank, Asia Foundation, and Swiss Contact, focusing on MSME
development, sustainable agriculture, and rural economic empowerment. Since
1998, Dr. Darma has been a vital senior researcher and trainer in resource
economics and rural development, working with Indonesia's National Development
Planning Agency (Bappenas) and Hasanuddin University's research centre to
promote policy innovation. His research addresses rural sociology, livelihood
systems, and political ecology, focusing on climate change adaptation,
sustainable farming, and the role of social capital in rural resilience. He
represented Indonesia in a regional initiative to improve the genetics and
socioeconomics of common carp in Asia (1997-2000). Dr. Darma's academic
contributions include numerous publications in top-tier journals, many indexed
by Scopus. He earned his bachelor's degree from Hasanuddin University (1983), a
master's in resource economics from Bogor Agricultural University (1987), and a
doctorate in agricultural economics from the University of the Philippines at
Los Baños (1993). His commitment to education, research, and community
empowerment continues to impact Indonesia's agricultural development.
Dr. Muhammad Hasbi is a senior lecturer in Information Systems at Hasanuddin University, Indonesia, specializing in data analysis, intelligent irrigation systems, and rural natural resource development. His research integrates technology into agriculture, focusing on irrigation efficiency and digital marketplace solutions.In 2021, he helped develop a prototype marketplace using the ABG2C model (Academician, Businessman, Government to Community) to support SMEs in North Luwu Regency. As a consultant in smart irrigation systems, his expertise has helped farmers optimize water management and improve productivity.In 2022, as head of the Kedaireka program team, he led a smart irrigation collaboration between Hasanuddin University and PT. Al-Fatih Porang Indonesia in Sidrap Regency, fostering university-industry partnerships. Since 2024, he has worked with PT. Nusantara Segar Abadi (NSA), a subsidiary of PT. Great Giant Pineapple (GGP), helping partner farmers manage drip irrigation systems for export-quality Cavendish banana cultivation, increasing yields while reducing water usage.Dr. Hasbi holds a bachelor’s degree from Hasanuddin University (1988), a master’s in Computer Science from the Asian Institute of Technology (1996), and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Socioeconomics from Hasanuddin University (2020). His work bridges technology, agriculture, and rural development, driving sustainable innovations in Indonesia’s agricultural sector.
