Dongmei Yu is a researcher and a deputy director of the
Nutritional Epidemiology Division, Institute of Nutrition and Health, Chinese
Center for Disease Control and Prevention. She obtained her Master’s Degree in
Social Medicine and Health Management from the Peking Union Medical College in
July 2001 and her Ph.D. in Nutrition and Food Hygiene from the Chinese Center
for Disease Control and Prevention in July 2005. From December 2001 to
September 2002, she was an assistant researcher at the Institute of Occupational
Health and Poison Control, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Since 2005, she has been a researcher and a deputy director at the Chinese Center
for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2010, her project “A Cohort Study on
Nutritional Changes of Chinese Residents during a Period of Rapid Economic
Growth” won the first prize for the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese
Nutrition Society, and in 2015, she was awarded the title of National Advanced
Worker in the Nutrition Industry of the Chinese Nutrition Society. She has been
engaged in epidemiological research on nutrition and health of the whole
population for a long time, and her main areas of research include residents’
dietary nutrient intake, nutrition-related chronic diseases, and international
comparisons, dietary patterns and chronic diseases, nutrition and health of
women, children, and adolescents, famine and health, etc.
