Lance Williams is the Chair and Professor of Biology and a Founding
Member of the Center for Environment, Biodiversity, and Conservation at The
University of Texas at Tyler, TX, USA. He received his B.Sc. in Zoology from
the University of Oklahoma in 1994, his M.Sc. in Zoology from Oklahoma State
University in 1997, and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Mississippi State
University in 2000. His research background is in aquatic ecology. More
specifically, the community ecology of stream organisms and their habitat. Much
of his research has focused on understanding how different land use practices
influence the functional ecology of streams and rivers in the eastern United
States. His lab also focuses on wetland ecology and invasive species like the
Australian redclaw crayfish.
