Dr. Matteo Mario Carlà is a resident in the Department of
Ophthalmology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy. He obtained his Master's Degree
in Medicine and Surgery from the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome. His research
interests encompass vitreoretinal surgery, medical retina, glaucoma, and
pathological myopia.
Dr. Laura De Luca is an Associate Professor of
Pharmaceutical Chemistry in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and
Pharmaceutical and Environmental Sciences (CHIBIOFARAM) at the University of
Messina, Italy. She obtained her Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and
Technology with top honors in 1999 from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the
University of Messina. Her experimental thesis was recognized with the
prestigious "Gaetano Martino" Kiwanis Degree Award. In addition, she
received the "Premio Giovani Ricercatori" from the University of
Messina for her outstanding scientific research conducted in 2005.
Prof. Stanislao Rizzo is a Full Professor of Ophthalmology
and Director of the School of Specialization in Ophthalmology at the Catholic
University “Sacro Cuore”. He also serves as the Chair of the Ophthalmology Unit
at Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS in Rome, Italy.
He is a leading innovator in his field, consistently striving to incorporate
the most advanced technologies into the operating room. His primary research
endeavors encompass vitreoretinal surgeries, gene therapy, stem cell
applications, retinal prostheses, and technological innovations aimed at
