Author Biographies

Sofya V. Atsigeida is a postgraduate student at the Department of Optics and Biophotonics at Saratov State University. Her research focuses on tissue optical clearing and quantification of diffusion properties of chemical agents in tissues and collagen materials using spectroscopy and optical coherence tomography imaging.
Daria K. Tuchina, Ph.D., is an associate professor of the Department of Optics and Biophotonics of Saratov State University. Her research is focused on tissue optical clearing; quantification of diffusion of chemical agents in normal, diabetic and pathological tissues using spectroscopy; OCT imaging and laser technologies. Daria is the author of 6 book chapters, 7 patents, over 25 papers in peer-reviewed journals and over 65 conference proceedings, and she is a researcher in over 30 research projects.
Prof. Peter Timashev is a scientific director of the Sechenov Biomedical Science and Technology Park. He has rich and extensive experience in materials science, supercritical fluid technologies, atomic force microscopy, laser additive technologies, biomaterials, nanomedicine, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine for more than 20 years. Professor Timashev has a productive record of more than 440 papers and supported projects with overall funding of more than 35 million USD for the last five years. The cell-based products newly developed in the Institute for Regenerative Medicine under his supervision are translating into clinical practice in hospitals of the Sechenov University to reconstruct tissues and organs in urology, orthopedics, maxillofacial surgery, dermatology and otolaryngology.
Valery V. Tuchin is the head of the Department of Optics and Biophotonics and Science Medical Center of Saratov State University and cooperates with several other universities and academic institutions. His research interests include tissue optics, tissue optical clearing, laser medicine and nanobiophotonics. Prof. Tuchin is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Science and a Fellow of SPIE and OSA/OPTICA and has been awarded the title of Honored Scientist of Russia, the SPIE Educator Award, the J.W. Goodman Book Writing Award, the M.S. Feld Biophotonics Award, “Professor of the Year”, the Vyzov Foundation’s “Scientist of the Year” and many other awards. His publications have been cited over 43,000 times.
