Raphael Mota Garrido has 9 years of experience in herbicide discovery, encompassing both natural and synthetic compounds. He is a co-author of two patent applications: the first, titled "Chalcone-Related Herbicides", was filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) under the number 63/688,403; the second, titled "Herbicida de Chalconas", was registered with the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) under the process number BR 10 2024 026838 5. He completed a 10 month exchange program at the Weed Research Laboratory of Colorado State University, USA, under the supervision of Dr. Franck Emmanuel Dayan, where he deepened his knowledge in the field. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher in the project "Herbicide Potential and Ecotoxicological Assessment of Chalcones, Curcuminoids, and Amines" at São Paulo State University (UNESP), under the guidance of Dr. Rosana Marta Kolb. In 2013, he was honored with the Honor of Merit award in recognition of his outstanding academic performance during my undergraduate studies in Industrial Chemistry.
