Professor Patrizio Lancellotti obtained his MD from the University of Liege, Belgium, in 1995. At the University Hospital of Liège he obtained his Internship License in 1998 and received his cardiology license in 2000. He received training in heart transplantation in 2001 and was licensed in the Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital of Liège in 2002. He holds a PhD from the University Hospital of Liège and is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC). His major research areas are valvular disease and cardiac effects in malignancy. He has been the recipient of the European Research Council Consolidator Grant to develop new antithrombotic coatings of prosthetic heart valves. Patrizio Lancellotti is Director of the Interdisciplinary Cluster for Applied Genoproteomics Cardiovascular Science Unit (GIGA) at the University of Liège, Belgium. Since 2017, he has served as Head of the Cardiology Department at the University of Liège Hospital.
