Yehua He received the B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees of Economic Forestry from Central South University of Forestry and Technology, in 1981 and 1998. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Fruit Horticulture Research Laboratory of Kyoto University, Japan from 1992 to 1993. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Crop Science at Hunan Agricultural University from 1996 to 2001. From 2001 to 2002, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Gene Research Center of Kobe University, Japan. He was a Lecturer, an Associate Professor and a Professor at Central South University of Forestry and Technology from 1987 to 1996. He is a Professor at Hunan Agricultural University from 1996 to 2001. Since 2001, he has been a Professor at the College of Horticulture, South China Agricultural University. His research interests mainly focus on cellular molecular biological mechanisms and regulation of somatic embryogenesis in pineapple plants, and research and innovation of pineapples, plums, and other tree germplasm resources.
