Dr. Xiao Ma is the Vice Dean of the College of Grassland Science and Technology at Sichuan Agricultural University. He is a recipient of the State Council’s Special Government Allowance, an academic and technical leader in Sichuan Province, a national forestry and grassland teaching master, a forage expert in the Sichuan Beef Cattle Innovation Team, and an executive director of the Education Committee and Breeding Committee of the Chinese Grassland Society. He holds a master’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology and a doctorate in grassland science from Sichuan Agricultural University. He has long been engaged in teaching, scientific research, and promotion of scientific and technological achievements in the genetic breeding and utilization of plateau forage grasses. He presided over and conducted research on the breeding, selection, and registration of 17 excellent forage varieties (four of which were nationally reviewed). He published more than 60 papers in core journals or above as the first or corresponding author, 32 of which were included in SCI. He presided over 12 authorized patents (including five invention patents) and edited or co-edited six textbooks and monographs. He has presided over 13 national and provincial scientific research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation and the Provincial Science and Technology Support Plan.
