Author Biographies

Dr. Jacqueline Silva is the Senior Manager of Research Operations at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Galveston, TX, USA. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of New Orleans in 2016. She then completed the NIH Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program at the University of Washington in 2018. In 2024, Dr. Jacqueline Silva earned a Ph.D. from the Pharmacology and Toxicology Graduate Program at UTMB. Her research focuses on analyzing clinical data, developing localized drug delivery methods, and conducting toxicity screening to advance treatments for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) into clinical trials.
Dr. Batbayar Tumurbaatar is a research scientist at the Department of Neurology, Mitchell Center for Neurodegenerative Disease, The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Galveston, TX, USA. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the Technical University of Brno, Czech Republic, and his MS and Ph.D. from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Batbayar Tumurbaatar’s current research interests include studying synaptic Tau oligomer and amyloid β (Aβ) pathology in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and Non-Demented with Alzheimer’s Neuropathology (NDAN) individuals, isolation and structural, biochemical, and functional characterization of brain-derived Tau oligomers (BDTO) isolated from human tauopathy cases of AD and NDAN, and synaptic dysfunction and memory deficits associated with AD pathogenesis/Tau pathology in transgenic mice with human tauopathies (3xTg AD and human Tau transgenic mouse).
Dr. Jutatip Guptarak is a research scientist and Lab manager at the Mitchell Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Galveston, TX, USA. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Biology and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Texas Woman’s University in 2005 and 2009, respectively. Dr. Jutatip Guptarak’s research interest centers on the mechanism involved in dendritic spine preservation in Non-Demented with Alzheimer’s Disease Neuropathology individuals.
