Prof. Dr. Jorge Lopes Cavalcante Neto obtained his PhD in Physiotherapy from Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), with a Sandwich Doctorate period at Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands, between 2017 and 2018, being a CAPES PDSE scholarship holder. He holds a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition and a degree in Physical Education from Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL). He is an Adjunct Professor at State University of Bahia (UNEB), acting as a Permanent Professor of the Professional Master’s Degree in Public Health (MEPISCO) at UNEB, Campus I. He is Leader of the Study, Research, and Extension Group in Special Education and Adapted Physical Education (GEPEFA) and a coordinator of the Laboratory of Assessment and Intervention in Adapted Motor Activity (LAIAMA). His research interests include assessment and intervention in functionality and health in neurodevelopmental disorders, with an emphasis on developmental coordination disorder (DCD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD), virtual reality, motor behavior, physical fitness, mental health, and quality of life.
