Prof. Mingwei Sun graduated from the Department of Communication and Control Engineering of Northern Jiaotong University with a bachelor’s degree in traffic signal and control in 1995. From 1995 to 2000, he studied for a master’s and doctoral degree in control theory and control engineering at Nankai University and obtained a doctorate in engineering. He worked in the guidance, navigation, and flight control research and engineering practice at the Third Department of the Third Academy of Aerospace from 2000 to 2008. In 2009, he moved to Nankai University to engage in teaching and scientific research. In 2016, he was awarded the title of professor and doctoral supervisor. He has been a visiting scholar at Yeungnam University, Tampere University, Singapore Management University, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Czech Academy of Sciences. He is currently working in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Nankai University. His main research interests are predictive control, active disturbance rejection control, aircraft guidance and control, and nonlinear optimization. He has published 47 SCI papers and has two national invention patents. He won the second prize of National Defense Science and Technology Progress, the second and third prizes of National Defense Science and Technology Progress (ranked first), and the second class merit for individual preliminary research in aerospace.
