Prof. Dr. Edgar Acosta is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at the University of Toronto. He received his BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad del Zulia (Venezuela) in 1996, and his MSc and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma, in 2000 and 2004, respectively. He has published 110 research articles in the area of colloids, complex fluids, and formulation engineering. In addition, he is a member of the American Oil Chemists Society and American Chemical Society. His research interests are Interfacial Curvature of Surface Active Compounds, Low Surface Tension Films, Lecithin-Based Microemulsions as Drug Delivery Vehicles, and Lung Surfactants.
