Prof. Dr. Maria Cécilia Gallani is a professor of
nursing, particularly recognized for her expertise in advanced nursing practice
and critical care. She teaches courses in several programs in the Faculty of
Nursing. Since 2019, she has held the position of Vice Dean of Graduate Studies
and Research. In addition to her role as professor at the FSI since 2010, she
has been a regular researcher at the Research Center of the Institut
Universitaire de Cardiologie et de Pneumologie de Québec—Université Laval since
2011 and editor-in-chief of the journal Science Infirmière et Pratiques de
Santé/Science of Nursing and Health Practice since 2023.
Prof. Dr. Christine Maheu is a professor at the Ingram
School of Nursing at McGill University. She also holds a clinical scientist
position with the Cancer Survivorship Program at Princess Margaret Cancer
Centre, Toronto. At McGill University, she teaches research, supervises
graduate students (master's, doctorate, post-doctorate), mentors practicing nurses
and students in research, and conducts research (in English/French). Her
research is focused on cancer survivorship care, with special interests in
psychosocial oncology clinical interventions. Dr. Maheu is a co-principal
investigator on fear of cancer recurrence, a study supported by funds from the Canadian
Cancer Society. Sponsored by the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (CPAC),
she currently leads a team focusing on the creation of the Cancer and Work website,
addressing the needs of cancer survivors, health care providers, and employers
when returning and staying at work following cancer. Additionally, in
partnership with IPSOS, funded by CPAC, she is co-leading a nationwide survey
assessment of the transition care needs of cancer patients from end of treatment to
three years post diagnosis. Dr. Maheu received excellence awards in nursing
research (2013, 2015, 2016) from Ovarian Cancer Canada, the Canadian
Association of Nurses in Oncology, and the Quebec Association of Nurses in
Oncology.
