Author Biographies

Carolina Quirós Domínguez is a Chilean teacher, with a PhD in Education, master’s degree in didactics and evaluation, and master’s degree in university teaching. She is a Professor in the Department of Research Methods and Diagnosis in Education of the Faculty of Education of the University of Barcelona, Spain. She has a broad experience teaching at schools and universities in Chile and Spain, and her specialization areas are competency assessment, programs evaluation and educational research. Currently, her main interest is to contribute to the improvement of the training of future schoolteachers, taking part in work groups to propose new study plans. She is a member of the research group TRALS, focused on educational and job transitions, and she is also part of the teaching innovation group MIDEME, focused on educational research methods.
Valeria De Ormaechea Otarola is an Argentine pedagogue, with a PhD and a master's degree in education, specializing in Intercultural Education. She is a Professor in the Department of Research Methods and Diagnosis in Education of the Faculty of Education of the University of Barcelona, Spain, and Professor in the Euro-Latin American Master in Intercultural Education course at the National Distance University, UNED. She has vast experience in citizen participation and cooperative organizations. She is a member of the research group TRALS, focused on educational and job transitions. She is also part of the research team research group INTER, focused on intercultural education, at the UNED University. She is also part of the MIDEME teaching innovation group, focused on educational research methods. Her current research interest is in relating education with other disciplines to deepen and expand pedagogical horizons.
Mónica Ferré Tobaruela is a Predoctoral Researcher in the Intercultural Education Research Group (GREDI) of the Department of Research Methods and Diagnosis in Education at the University of Barcelona, Spain. She graduated in Pedagogy and holds a master's in Psychopedagogy, and she now collaborates on several projects relating to gender, interculturality and interreligious dialogue, although she focuses her research on the identification and prevention of and fight against violence and discrimination towards LGBTIQ+ people. She currently teaches in the Master in Teacher Training course at the University of Barcelona and is working on her doctoral thesis about the coming out processes of LGBTIQ+ people and how family members can support and accompany them.
Núria Lorenzo Ramírez is a Tenured Professor at the University of Barcelona. She is a specialist in didactics, teacher training, early childhood education, school libraries, curricular innovation, and educational change. She graduated in Pedagogy (1990) and Library Science and Documentation (1994), and holds a Ph.D. in Education (1997). She currently works in both initial and permanent teacher training. She is a member of the Research Group in Intercultural Education (GREDI) and a member of the Institute of Research in Education of the University of Barcelona. She has participated in research projects “Talk to me in Catalan, I’m a Catalan Muslim woman” based on gender, religion for democracy, and citizenship and an Erasmus+ called “Stories That Move”, which has as its axis the fight against discrimination on identity grounds.
