Doctorate in Systems Engineering and Services for the Information Society from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Previously, she obtained the degrees of Technical Telecommunications Engineer and Master from the same university. Her research career began in 2005 within the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, with an innovative focus on inclusive technologies. She has participated in more than 20 projects aimed at improving digital inclusion through the design of digital products and services adapted to the needs of people with different abilities. This work has involved the application of inclusive design criteria, user research and data analysis, highlighting its commitment to transformative technological solutions. Her academic projects and dissertations have focused on models of cognitive stimulation through serious games for patients with diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. She currently heads the UDIT Fashion, Technology and Sustainability Group (GUMTS), where she develops projects that integrate smart textiles with research, development and innovation. In the field of teaching, she started in 2017 as a professor of official degrees at the Universidad de Diseño, Innovación y Tecnología (UDIT). Her teaching activity has focused on topics related to web design and development, distributed systems or user experience design in digital services and products, mainly in video games.
Prof. Dr. Fernando Seoane is a Senior Lecturer in Medical Technology and Professor in Biomedical Engineering employed by Karolinska Institutet and the University of Borås. He serves as Coordinator for Research, Innovation, Development, and Education at the Department of Medical Technologies at Karolinska University Hospital through a combined position with the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention, and Technology (CLINTEC) at Karolinska Institutet. At Karolinska Institutet, Prof. Seoane leads the Medical Technology and Digital Health research group, focusing on needs-driven translational research in Process Mining and applied AI to drive digital health transformation through innovation adoption in clinical practice, with a denoted focus on developing the business of the Core Facility Stockhom Medical AI and Learning Environment. At the University of Borås, he leads the Textile and Wearable Electronics for p-Health Solutions group, advancing wearable biomedical instrumentation and integrating smart textiles into personalized healthcare. In his hospital role, he bridges academia and healthcare, enhancing clinical practice through research, education, and innovation. With over 150 scientific publications, including more than 60 peer-reviewed articles and 75 conference contributions, and extensive experience supervising Ph.D. students, his work spans wearable measurement systems, biosignal processing, and biomedical data analysis to enable high-value care.
Prof. Dr. Iván Pau received the Ph.D. degree in accessible system and services from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain. He is currently an Associate Professor of telematics engineering with UPM and the Head of the InnoTep Research Group. His research background is in smart and pervasive environments (smart home and smart schools), user-oriented security, and innovation ecosystems management. His current research interest includes the study of security and interaction issues in the conceptualization and development of sociotechnical services in the fields of health and education.
