Author Biographies

Levente Péter Bálint is a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Management and Business, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Debrecen. In his BA thesis, he investigated implementation barrier factors of Big Data technology implementation for European SMEs. In his MA thesis, he researched how ITIL standards correlate in SMEs with the implementation and advantages of Business Intelligence systems. His research interests include digital transformation, business intelligence, decision-support systems, digital skills and competence trainings, sustainable ICT practices. He is also an enthusiastic Financial Analyst. He is a member of the Hungarian Agricultural Informatics Association.
László Várallyai Ph.D lecturer serves as the president of the Hungarian Association of Agricultural Informatics (HAAI) and he is a member of the European Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture, Food and the Environment (EFITA) and member of the Hungarian Association of Agricultural Economists (HAAE). Laszlo authored or co-authored more than 170 publications and took part in several educational projects. He is also a member of the Institute of Methodology for Agricultural and Business Digitalisation at the University of Debrecen. He is the chief editor of the Journal of Agricultural Informatics. He was taking part in more research projects and has 30 years experience of in computer application in agriculture. He was the secretary of the Organizing Committee of the EFITA2003 Conference which was supported by the EU.Specifically, his research focuses on the following areas: E-learning and usability in the field of education and skills connected directly to Sustainable development goals. He started to work on IoT devices, as it is becoming more and more widespread, especially in agriculture.
Szilvia Botos works as a researcher with PhD on the domain of agricultural and business digitalization. She is the secretary of the Hungarian Association of Agricultural Informatics (HAAI) and she is also a member of other professional associations (Hungarian Association of Agricultural Economists, John von Neumann Computer Society, Scientific Association for Infocommunications). She works as an associate professor at the Department of Agricultural- and Business Digitalization at the University of Debrecen, Faculty of Economics and Business. She participated in Hungarian and international projects and completed several Erasmus mobility scholarships. Specifically, her research focuses on the following areas: measuring the digital readiness of enterprises operating within the agrifood supply chain and the assessment of digital skills in business processes.
