Reham Hassan Mekky (ORCID ID:0000-0001-5613-5666) is an Associate Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Egyptian Russian University, Cairo, Egypt. She received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University with a general grade of Distinction with Honor. She received her Ph.D. from Cairo University, Egypt and the University of Granada, Spain via Erasmus Mundus - Al Idrisi II, a scholarship scheme for exchange and cooperation between Europe and North Africa for Doctorate Students. She participated in the project “International Cooperation Cell ICC06 under the Erasmus Mundus – Al Idrisi II Program”. She has published several articles with a focus on pharmacognosy and natural product chemistry of traditionally used therapies and functional foods, and three book chapters. She is a co-founder and an Associate Editor at the ERU Research Journal published by the Egyptian Russian University and Egyptian Knowledge Bank. She is a member of the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI), Italo-Latin American Society of Ethnomedicine, SILAE, (Società Italo-Latinoamericana di Etnomedicina), Alumni of the University of Granada, and the Egyptian Syndicate of Pharmacists.
Iman M. Talaat is a Professor and a Consultant Anatomic Pathologist at the Clinical Sciences Department, College of Medicine, University of Sharjah. She earned an MSc and a Ph.D./M.D. in Anatomic Pathology from the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, Egypt. She specializes in surgical and molecular pathology, focusing on cancer research, mainly solid tumors and the pathogenesis of different neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases. She also focuses on understanding the cancer microenvironment and, in particular, the crosstalk between immune and tumor cells. Moreover, she is a member of several scientific societies, has over 100 publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, and is the PI and co-PI of various internal and external grants.
