Emel Sadikoglu received her B.Sc. degree in civil engineering and her M.Sc. degree in construction management from Boğaziçi University in 2018 and 2021, respectively. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in construction management at Gebze Technical University. She has been working as a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Civil Engineering at Gebze Technical University for five years. Her research interests include construction project management, lean construction, agility, sustainability, occupational health and safety, digital technologies, and machine learning methods in the construction industry.
Sevilay Demirkesen earned, from the Istanbul Technical University, a BS in Civil Engineering (2010) and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the Bogazici University (2016). Upon graduation of Bogazici University, she worked as a post-doctoral scholar at University of California, Berkeley between years 2016 and 2018. She is now an Associate Professor of Construction Management in Civil Engineering Department of Gebze Technical University. Her work in Construction Management has resulted in several publications. Her research interests include lean construction, construction health and safety, risk management, project management performance, disaster management and sustainability, and building information modeling.
Prof. Dr. Selçuk Toprak, an expert in civil and earthquake engineering with extensive experience in the field, completed his undergraduate and M.Sc. degrees at Bogaziçi University. He pursued his Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering at Cornell University in the United States and continued his professional career at the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in California. Then, he returned to Turkey, where he served as a faculty member at Yıldız Technical University, Pamukkale University, and Gebze Technical University, taking on various administrative roles during this period. Additionally, he worked as a visiting researcher for nearly a year at Waseda University and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Japan and held a visiting professorship at Cornell University. He currently continues his academic career at Gebze Technical University. Prof. Dr. Selçuk Toprak has conducted research in geotechnical earthquake engineering, foundation engineering, environmental geotechnics, urban risk analysis, disaster resilience, the reliability of infrastructure systems, BIM, and engineering education. He has led numerous national and international projects, collaborating with institutions from Japan, the United States, New Zealand, and various European countries. With over a hundred scientific publications, he has made significant contributions to his field and has mentored many engineers and researchers throughout his academic career.
