Diana A. Chen, PhD is an Associate Professor and one of the founding faculty members of Integrated Engineering at the University of San Diego. She earned her MS and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering from Clemson University and her BS in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College. Her scholarly interests include engineering education that contextualizes engineering sciences and design, exploring engineering boundaries for inclusive pedagogy, and sustainability and bio-inspired design in the built environment.
Melissa M. Gibbons, PhD is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at University of San Diego. She received her MS and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Los Angeles and BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Physics from University of Miami. Prior to joining University of San Diego, she worked as a senior research engineer at L3 Technologies. Her research interests include biomechanics, injury prediction and prevention, and thin-film mechanics; her methodology of choice is numerical modeling using finite element analysis.
