Dr. Daria Maria Filippini has gained valuable experience in the field of oncology through her work in the Department of Head and Neck Tumors at INT Milano. Her primary research focuses on head and neck tumors, particularly head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and salivary gland carcinomas. Dr. Filippini's main research interests include identifying prognostic and predictive biomarkers for head and neck cancer, developing diagnostic biomarkers (including circulating biomarkers) for detecting cancers of unknown primary (CUP) within the head and neck region, and exploring the integration of effective drugs into immunotherapy for recurrent or metastatic cases of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
Manuela Ferracin is a Full Professor of Pathology at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, University of Bologna (Italy). She serves as the Head of the Center for Applied Medical Research and is the Coordinator of the PhD Programme in Oncology, Hematology, and Pathology. Prof. Ferracin obtained a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Molecular Oncology from the University of Ferrara. She has a background in molecular oncology, with specific expertise in identifying diagnostic and prognostic gene signatures and the role of microRNAs in cancer. She has co-authored more than 170 papers (H-index 59). Currently, her research focuses on identifying biomarkers of immunotherapy efficacy and developing models of cancer of unknown primary.
