Prof. Dr. Baifeng Luan received a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the Harbin Institute of Technology in 2004. From 2005 to 2007, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Department of Materials Science, Tsinghua University. From 2012 to 2013, he was a visiting scholar in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at North Carolina State University. Currently, he is a professor at the Department of Materials Processing Engineering, Chongqing University. He is also a director of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and a member of the Chinese Society of Somatology. He is mainly engaged in the preparation, heat treatment, microstructure, strengthening mechanism and analysis of the deformation mechanism of metallic materials and metal matrix composites, as well as in the plastic-forming process, material mechanical behavior, and the deformation recrystallization mechanism of hexagonal structure zirconium and titanium alloys.
