Patrice Creux defended his PhD in physical chemistry in 2000. He became an Assistant Professor in 2001, Associate Professor in 2008 and Full Professor in 2016 from the University of Pau et des Pays de l'Adour and was an Associate Professor at Stanford University from 2015 to 2020. He has contributed to the development of various methods based on X-ray tomography applied to the characterization, understanding and modeling of physical flow mechanisms in porous media.
He is therefore interested in digital image processing methods, the development of experimental set-ups for X-ray tomography, the design of new X-ray tomography systems, as well as flow modeling and flow characterization in porous media. Single- and two-phase flows in all types of media (permeable and tight, homogeneous or heterogeneous) and, more recently, reactive flows applied to CO2 storage, in situ leaching, or lithium production are among the areas of research within which he works.
