Jeongsoo Yu is a professor at the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies at Tohoku University in Japan. He is also responsible for the Graduate School of Environmental Studies and the Green Goals Initiative at the same university. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Tsukuba in 1999. He is interested in cross-sectoral research fields, which include carbon zero and circular economy policies, Life-Cycle-Assessment, developing a plastic sorter, and SDGs education. He is focusing especially on integrated waste management and sustainable recycling, such as End-of-Life Vehicles, E-waste, and plastic waste, among others. He is the special issue editor for Sustainable Waste Management and Recycling for Achieving a Circular Economy in Sustainability. In addition, he is a main founder of AAEF (Asian Automotive Environmental Forum), which was established in 2008. His research has been published in journals such as Waste Management, Waste Management & Research, Journal of Industrial Ecology, Journal of Urban Management, Recycling, Sustainability, Societies and Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and others.
