Dr. Alan S. Fung is an Associate Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University. He obtained a BSc at Dalhousie University in 1988, a BEng at Technical University of Nova Scotia in 1989, an MASc at Technical University of Nova Scotia in 1992 and a PhD at Dalhousie University in 2003. He achieved the Governor General Gold Medal, CMHC Excellence in Education Award, Mitacs Professor Award for Exceptional Leadership, and Champion of Diversity Award. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the American Society for Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) (member and student branch faculty advisor), a Former board member, member, and treasurer of the International Building Performance Simulation Association of Canada (IBPSA-Canada), a member and fellow of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (CSME), a member of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), and a member of Engineers Nova Scotia (ENS).
