Author Biographies

Zongxiao Zhang received a B.S. degree in measurement and control technology and instruments in 2022 from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China. He is currently pursuing an M.S. degree with the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Optical Communication Systems and Networks, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China. His research interests include distributed acoustic sensing and its applications in seismic monitoring.
Qingwen Liu received B.S. and M.S. degrees in optoelectronics from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 2005 and 2007, respectively, and a Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 2012. In 2013, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His research interests include high-resolution fiber grating sensors, distributed optical fiber sensors, and photonic sensors.
Rongrong Niu received a B.S. degree in communication engineering in 2022 from Xiamen University, Xiamen, China. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree with the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Optical Communication Systems and Networks, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China. Her research interests include quasi- or fully distributed acoustic sensing.
Zuyuan He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronic engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 1984 and 1987, respectively, and a Ph.D. degree in photonics from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1999. In 1987, he joined the Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing, China, as a Research Associate, and became a Lecturer in 1990. From 1995 to 1996, he was a Research Fellow studying optical information processing with the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST), University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. In 1999, he became a Research Associate with the University of Tokyo. In 2001, he joined CIENA Corporation, Linthicum, MD, USA, as a Lead Engineer heading the optical testing and optical process development group. In 2003, he returned to the University of Tokyo as a Lecturer, then became an Associate Professor in 2005 and a Full Professor in 2010. His research interests include optical fiber sensors, specialty optical fibers, and optical interconnects. Since 2013, he has been an Associate Editor for IEEE/OSA JOURNAL OF LIGHTWAVE TECHNOLOGY. He was the Technical Program Committee Member in a variety of international conferences, such as CLEO, OFC, and OFS, and the General Chair of the Asia Communications and Photonics Conference (ACP), 2014, and the Asia-Pacific Optical Sensors Conference (APOS), 2016.
