Paula Milheiro-Oliveira is an associate professor with habilitation in Applied Mathematics at the University of Porto, Portugal. Her area of research is in statistics and stochastic systems applied to engineering problems. More precisely, her specialty is in data-driven stochastic dynamic models, dynamic data assimilation, stochastic simulation, estimation and forecasting, predictive models under uncertainty, data fusion, MSO, and queuing systems. She participated in five research projects in engineering subjects, supervised two Ph.D. theses (concluded) and one ongoing, co-supervises another one, and supervised eight M.Sc. theses. She authored more than 50 technical and scientific publications, including 4 single-authored journal papers, from which 3 publications in the ``Top 25% most cited documents worldwide'' list and 5 publications in the ``Top 25% journals by CiteScore'' list (Scopus). She acted as a member of the Superior Statistical Council - Northern Regional Section until 2003 and a member of the Senior Council of the Civil Engineering Department of FEUP until 2022. She is an integrated researcher at CMUP (Center of Mathematics of the University of Porto), also collaborating with CONSTRUCT (Institute of R&D in Sctructures and Construction). The results of her research are cited in international patents 2012-C75150/WO 2012/025813 Al and 2012-C70277/EP2423265-A1.
