Sharon B. Megdal is the Director of The University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center (WRRC), The University of Arizona. She also holds other primary titles as a Professor and Specialist in the Department of Environmental Science, C.W. and Modene Neely Endowed Professor, and Distinguished Outreach Professor. She received her A.B. in Economics from Douglass College (Rutgers University), and her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Economics, both from Princeton University. In 2020, she was awarded the Warren A. Hall Medal for lifetime achievement in water resources research and education by the Universities Council on Water Resources. In 2023, she was named a University of Arizona Woman of Impact, and, in 2024, she received the “Salt of the Earth” award from the Multi-State Salinity Coalition. Also in 2024, she was named a fellow of the American Water Resources Association. Her main research areas are focused on water management, water policy, and water governance.
