Prof. Dr. Maojin Tan is a Professor (Level 3) and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Geophysics and Information Technology, China University of Geosciences (Beijing). His main research directions are multi-scale rock physics, well-logging detection theory and methods, evolution theory and artificial intelligence, and well-logging-seismic intelligent fusion. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in applied geophysics from Changchun Institute of Geology, a Master’s degree in earth exploration and information technology, and a Doctorate in geological resources and geological engineering from China University of Petroleum (East China). He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has undertaken four major national special projects, five key and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and 60 projects commissioned by China National Petroleum Corporation and China Petrochemical Corporation. He has officially published about 120 papers in domestic and foreign academic journals and academic conferences such as Geophysics and Acta Geophysica (more than 100 journal papers as the first author: 60 SCI or EI papers), independently authored three monographs, and co-edited one textbook (second author). He has handled or authorized more than 20 patents and five software copyrights.
