Francesca Taranto currently serves as a researcher in the National Research Council of Italy, Institute of Biosciences and Bioresources (CNR-IBBR), in Bari. She worked as a post doctoral researcher at the Research Centre for Cereals and Industrial Crops at Council for Agricultural and Economics Research (CREA) in the area “Genetics and Genomics” (2018.01–2019.11). Her research interests mainly include marker-assisted breeding and genetics of wheat, legumes, and cultivated trees (mainly olive and grapevine). Genetics, molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics are used to investigate population genetics, biodiversity, and gene flow, and to identify key genes involved in the expression of important agronomic traits.
