Pablo Romo earned, from Universidad del Valle, a doctorate in chemistry sciences (2022), a master’s degree in chemistry sciences (2016), and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry (2013). He is currently a Professor at the Faculty of Basic Sciences, Universidad Santiago de Cali (2023–present), with prior experience as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Natural and Exact Sciences, Universidad del Valle (2019–2024). His research focuses on the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds with potential biological activity, multicomponent reactions, and organocatalysis. He has extensive expertise in microwave- and ultrasound-assisted catalysis, spectroscopic analysis techniques such as NMR, mass spectrometry, and infrared spectroscopy, along with analytical method validation and the evaluation of antioxidant activity using DPPH and ORAC assays.
