Dorte Bratbo Sørensen has been an associate professor and lecturer in Laboratory Animal Science and Welfare at the University of Copenhagen since 2004. She is a DVM and holds a PhD in welfare assessment using operant conditioning techniques. Additionally, she is a certified animal trainer and co-editor of books on laboratory animal welfare and animal ethics. Her main fields of research are animal behaviour, animal welfare, and animal ethics. In 2020, she was awarded the Danish 3R Award by the Danish 3R-Center under the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries.
