Author Biographies

Abraham Perez-Alonzo earned, from the Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco (UJAT), a BS in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (2014). From 2013 to 2016 he was a Field Engineer at E&Tech Developments de Mexico company, where he was working with electronic instrumentation for oil and gas exploration applications. He received a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (2024). He is now a posdoctoral research at the Engineering Institute of UNAM. His research interests include the design of optical fiber sensor, with a focus on sensors for structural health monitoring and seismic applications.
LUIS ALVAREZ-ICAZA  received a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Control Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He is currently a researcher for the National Autonomous University of Mexico. In addition, he is an Emeritus National Researcher (granted by the National Research System; SNII by its acronym in Spanish). His research interests include control theory and modeling, the estimation and control of thermo-chemical processes, electro-mechanical  and vibration systems, and complex system modeling.
Dr. G. E. Sandoval-Romero received a master’s degree in electrical engineering in 1995, and a Ph.D. degree in technical sciences from the Saint Petersburg State University of Telecommunications, St. Petersburg, Russia, in 2001. Dr. G. E. Sandoval-Romero is currently with the Applied Physics and Bioengineering Group, Institute for Applied Sciences and Technology (ICAT, by its acronym in Spanish), and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México), Mexico City. He has worked on the development of optical sensors and optical fiber sensors to measure physical magnitudes. His current research interests include fiber optic instrumentation and sensing and monitoring physical, chemical, and biological parameters.
