Since 2020, Dr. Danijela Krstić has been a Full Professor at the Institute of Medical Chemistry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. In 1994, she received her B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Belgrade. In 2000, she received her Master of Science in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Belgrade. In 2004, she received her PhD in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Belgrade. From 1996 to 2000, she was a Researcher in the Department of Physical Chemistry at the Institute of Nuclear Sciences Vinca, Belgrade. From 2000 to 2008, she was a Teaching Assistant; from 2008 to 2013, she was an Assistant Professor; and from 2013 to 2020, she was an Associate Professor at the Institute of Medical Chemistry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. Her research activities are in the field of enzymology, toxicology, and medicinal chemistry, which include in vitro and in vivo toxicity evaluation of (in)organic novel synthesized and standard pharmacologically and physiologically active compounds; toxicity biomarkers such as cyto/genotoxicity assays, oxidative stress parameters, biochemical markers of neuro-, nephro-, and hepatotoxicity; and interactions between the targeted enzymes and biologically active molecules (drugs, novel potential drugs, and pesticides). Her ˃60 papers, published in international journals, have been cited more than 3300 times (Scopus).
