Author Biographies

Keely Stenberg is a PhD Candidate in the School of Planning at the University of Waterloo. She has completed a Bachelor of Arts (co-operative education) in Recreation and Health Education at the University of Victoria (2013) and a Master of Science in Public Health (with a specialization in Health Promotion) at the University of Alberta (2018).
Jennifer Dean is an Associate Professor in the School of Planning at the University of Waterloo, where she teaches and conducts research on healthy and inclusive communities. She received her B.A. (Hons) in Women's Studies & Geography at the University of Toronto Mississauga, her M.A. in Geography at the University of Toronto, and her Ph.D. in Geography at McMaster University in 2006, 2007, and 2012, respectively. In 2020, she won the Outstanding Performance Award. Her research interests include Healthy and inclusive community planning, Critical theories of health and place, Immigration, settlement and health in suburban and rural communities, Active, sustainable, and equitable transportation for health and well-being, and Qualitative, participatory, and community-based research.
