Markus Hempel received his first academic degree in mechanical engineering from Universität Bremen in 2011, and a Master of Science in Production Engineering in 2012. In 2010, he started as an assistant scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM and was involved in the development of prototype vehicles as a testing platform. His primarily concerned with the production and assembly technology of electric drives. His work focuses on the investigation of manufacturing influences and the production of prototype electric drives and their components

Niklas Umland, received his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering (Materials Science) in 2016 and his Master of Science from the University of Bremen in 2020. Since 2021, he has been working as a research associate at Fraunhofer IFAM, and is a PhD in the field of Multidisciplinary Design Automation of Electric drives.

Matthias Busse began as a research assistant in the Laboratory for Materials and Joining Technology at the University of Paderborn. After completing his doctorate in 1992 in the field of light metal casting, he took on the position of senior engineer. In 1994 he moved to industry, initially to Hanover in the component production department at Volkswagen AG and in 1997 to Group Research in Wolfsburg. After his appointment as a management executive in 1998, he became head of the production research field for the Volkswagen Group in 2001. From 2003 to 2024, he headed the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Applied Materials Research IFAM and simultaneously held the Chair of "Near-net-shape Manufacturing Technology" at the Department of Production Engineering at the University of Bremen.
