Dr. Juan Bartolomé is a researcher on ICT &
Education with a special focus on digital competences assessment and lifelong
learning at TECNALIA. He obtained a Computer Engineering degree in 2000, an
M.S. degree in Information Security in 2005 from the University of Deusto, an
M.S. degree in Education and ICT (e-learning) from Universitat Oberta de
Catalunya in 2016, and a PhD in Engineering for the Information Society and
Sustainable Development from the University of Deusto in 2023. His research interests
mainly include digital competence, technology-enhanced assessment, game-based
assessment, and assessment analytics.
Dr. Leire Bastida is the head of the Advanced Interaction
Platform in the eServices area at TECNALIA. She received her PhD in Science
Computing from the University of Deusto in 2008 and a PMP certificate in 2011.
She then obtained an Executive MBA from ESEUNE in 2012 and her Master’s degree
in "Gamification and Transmedia Narrative" from IEBS in 2015. Dr.
Leire Bastida’s research mainly focuses on Human Factors, User Experience (UX),
person-centered design, gamification, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
