Prof. Giorgio Figliolini is an Associate
Professor of Mechanics of Machinery and Mechanisms in the School of Engineering
at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Cassino, Italy. He obtained
his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (with honors) from the University
of Cassino. He was also a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Intelligent
Machines, McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada in 1998. His fields of study
mainly include the theory of machines and mechanisms, robotics, and mechatronics.
His current research interests are the synthesis of innovative mechanical
transmission systems, the design and control of grippers and biped walking
robots, and the mechatronic analysis and design of pneumatic devices.
