Author Biographies

Sarah K. Popenhagen received her bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2020, and expects to complete her PhD in Geophysics and Planetology at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa in 2025. She worked as a Student Hydrology Trainee at the USGS Illinois Water Science Center in 2020 before accepting a Research Assistant position at UH Mānoa. In 2022 and 2023, she completed summer internships at Idaho National Laboratory. Her research topics mainly include infrasound, rocket acoustics, attritable sensor networks, machine learning, edge computing, and near-real-time audio classification.
