Hongling Tian completed his Bachelor's studies at the Jianghan Petroleum Institute (current Yangtze University) and PhD studies at the Graduate School of CAS. He is currently a Professor, a Senior Engineer, and a Supervisor at the Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, CAS, Chengdu, China. Prior to that, he was a Visiting Researcher at University of Tokyo and an Assistant Engineer at the Henan Oilfield, SINOPEC. He has recently participated in the HKH DRR Knowledge Hub, MHRA hackathon for Multi-Hazard Risk modelling of ICIMOD, Comprehensive observation system on the Longmenshan fault, and Mountain-disaster-chain simulation experimental platform. He also serves as a member of the Sichuan Society of Emergency Management, Systems Engineering Society of Sichuan. His research interests include landslide investigation/assessment, hazard spatial and temporal data analysis, and landslide mitigation technology and platforms.
