Ronan Xavier Corrêa is an Agronomist (1992), Master (1995), and Doctor in Genetics and Breeding (1999) from the Federal University of Viçosa, Viçosa, MG. He was a Visiting Professor at the State University of Montes Claros (1999) and a Postdoctoral Visiting Researcher (2012) at the Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics—CRAG, Barcelona, Spain. He is a Professor at Santa Cruz State University (2000 to present). He develops research on diversity and molecular genetic mapping applied to plant improvement; genetics of plant disease resistance of cocoa, coffee, and its pathogens; genetics of plant–microorganism interactions, emphasizing arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi; and conservation genetics, emphasizing brazilwood and rosewood.
