Robert Barat is a Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering in the Chemical & Materials Engineering Department at the New Jersey Institute of Technology located in Newark, NJ, USA.  He also holds a Master Teacher designation at NJIT.  He joined the Department in 1990 after completing a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA, USA.  His research areas have included combustion, reaction kinetics, laser diagnostics, and applied catalysis.
