After completing her classical studies, Giuseppina Raffaini received an Ms Sc. in Chemistry at
the Università degli Studi di Milano, a postgraduate diploma in
"Advanced School in Polymer Science Giulio Natta", and an
Interuniversity Master's degree in Biomaterials. In 2005, she received a PhD in Materials
Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. In 2008, she became an Assistant
Professor, and in 2014, an Associate Professor, at the Politecnico di Milano. Her
research interests are molecular dynamics simulations of protein and drug
adsorption on biomaterials, organic inhibitors in concrete, and β-cyclodextrins
inclusion complexes for drug delivery in cancer therapy. She is the co-author of 70
original peer-reviewed ISI papers. She is a member of
ACS, AICIng, and DCT-SCI Association, and a Full Member of Sigma Xi (The Scientific
Research Honor Society).
