Professor Xuemin Wang is the Director, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor at the Institute of Marine Engineering Steel, which is part of the Collaborative Innovation Center of Steel Technology at the University of Science and Technology Beijing. He is the project leader of the “Seismic, Corrosion-Resistant, and Fire-Resistant Steel for Building Structures” project under the National 13th Five-Year Key Research and Development Plan Project, and the Beijing Science and Technology Rising Star. In addition, he serves as the Deputy Secretary General of the Materials Science Branch of the Chinese Society for Metals. Professor Wang earned his PhD in Materials Physics and Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology Beijing in March 2000. He also worked as a visiting scholar at the Institute of Metal Materials, Tohoku University. His research focuses on the design, development, and application of high-performance steels and alloys. He has published over a hundred papers, obtained dozens of authorized patents, and published two monographs. His contributions have been acknowledged with numerous awards, including the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award, the first, second, and third prizes of Metallurgical Science and Technology Progress Award, and many other provincial and ministerial awards.
Professor Xiangyu Xu, PhD, is an associate researcher at the Center for Advanced Solidification Technology, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai University. His research area is the development of high-quality special steels. He has presided over five scientific research projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation and enterprise horizontal projects. As a key member of the project, he has participated in more than 20 scientific research projects such as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation, and enterprise horizontal projects. He has published more than 20 academic papers as the first or corresponding author. He has authorized more than 10 invention patents. He won first prize in metallurgical science and technology and a silver medal at the Geneva International Invention Exhibition.
